During the spring months, we seeded with Centipede on fresh dirt & watered religiously, but somehow we still ended up having StAug too We now have a St Aug/ Centipede mix (which really seems like more StAug except for a couple patches) We fertilize regularly as suggested for Centipede grass & were told that it would take about 2yrs forCentipede grass is less of a nitrogen hog than St Augustine Spread 1 pound of slowrelease nitrogen fertilizer per 1,000 square feet of lawn once in spring and once in midsummer A healthy lawn will choke out most weeds, eliminating the need for chemical controls
